I was surprised to see the amount of people not using a traditional “backpack”. Some students used messenger bags, some used specially-designed bags, and some students even used gym bags to hold both their books and their workout clothes. Ultimately, the big need people kept mentioning was that their bag needed to “hold all their stuff.” Therefore, the ability to carry a LOT of items is very key for every user, even if they might not frequently carry very much in it. Therefore, while it needs to be able to carry a lot, it cannot be too bulky for when they want to carry only a few things, that’s why many people used messenger bags instead of backpacks. The second key feature is speed of access. Many people felt messenger bags allow for easier access of items, and some students told me that the reason they carry their backpack with only one strap instead of two is because that way it was faster to access items inside the bag. I want to design a rolling backpack that is sturdy and stylish, so people are not embarrassed by using a rolling backpack, but able to carry all of the information they need to without enduring back pain.
In what way might I… Have the knowledge in my books available to me at all times? Have my books whenever I want to use them? Get my books from one place to another? Carry my books? *Carry my books without straining my back? Reduce the number of books I carry? The practical solution to this in the near future is putting all my textbooks on a E-Reader... |
